Quick History

In 1963 Takagi Takagi developed  an automated ignition an automatic ignition system for a gas water heater.  This was followed in 1970 with a revolutionary automatic gas control valve system. Takagi Industrial developed a computer modulating gas valve and safety system for its tank-less water heaters 1980 which was followed by a microchip controlled gas water heater in 1982. These and following milestones set by Takagi were major milestones within the tankless hot water industry.

The thermal efficiency of the Flash T-K2 is over 85% using natural gas and 86% on propane gas with low Nox emission to meet AQMD (Air Quality Management District) regulation.

Because Takagi demand hot water heaters are able to vary heat, they can be used with water pre-warmed by solar hot water heating.  Variable heat also provides the advantage of more consistent heat , less affected by water flow fluctuations.
